Foreign Government Sales

Potential reductions in U.S. Government spending may motivate contractors to seek new government contract opportunities overseas.  Tapping the foreign government market can be a lucrative way for a contractor to expand its customer base.  But, international business transactions carry unique legal risks.  In this webinar, James Bradshaw and Mark Jackson of Ball Janik LLP provide an overview of common mechanisms for selling to foreign governments, together with highlighting some of the key legal risks.  Specific coverage includes:

  • Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF)
  • Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) to Foreign Governments
  • Restrictions on Paying Intermediaries (e.g., Agents and Sales Representatives)
  • U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)
  • Impact of Local Law on Transactions and Foreign Agent Engagements

Who should attend?  This free webinar to PNDC members ($20 for non-members) will provide useful information for:  (i) company management who are contemplating pursuing foreign government sales; (ii) business development personnel responsible for establishing and maintaining foreign sales channels; and (iii) in-house counsel, contract managers, and company personnel concerned with mitigating risk.
