Kelly Corcoran has joined the Orlando office, and Kyle Sturm has joined the Portland office. “In order to serve our growing clientele, particularly those in need of construction litigation and insurance coverage services, we recruited for both our Portland and Orlando offices. Adding Corcoran and Sturm complements our strengths and capabilities in representing policyholders in insurance coverage and construction litigation disputes,” stated Phillip Joseph, Co-Chair of the Construction Litigation practice. “Ball Janik has a proud history in this area, having helped recover millions of dollars in insurance claims on behalf of policyholders. Kelly M. Corcoran is an insurance coverage and construction litigation attorney in Ball Janik’s Orlando office. He resolves complex insurance coverage disputes on behalf of individual and corporate policyholders in their pursuit to recover claims. Corcoran has significant experience in managing construction defect coverage issues involving commercial and residential buildings, including apartment complexes, condominiums, and single-family homes, as well as other coverage issues involving personal injury and property damage claims. Corcoran received his J.D., cum laude, in 2008 from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. He received his B.S., Business Administration, magna cum laude, in 2005 from the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business Administration.

Kyle A. Sturm is a litigator in Ball Janik’s Portland office who represents corporate and individual policyholders on complex insurance coverage disputes, including construction defect claims. Sturm devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing policyholders in a wide variety of disputes arising under directors and officers, errors and omissions, commercial, homeowners, automotive, farm, and general liability policies. He has years of experience defending insurance companies, during which time he obtained valuable experience and insight concerning the insurance industry’s claims and litigation practices. He has advised and represented individuals and businesses in substantial insurance coverage disputes in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California. Sturm has been a member of the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practices Section since 2011. He is also a member of the Oregon State Bar Association and the Multnomah Bar Association. Sturm received his J.D. in 2007 from the Duquesne University School of Law and his B.S., in Finance, in 2004 from Pennsylvania State University.
