Aaron R. Harmon joined Ball Janik LLP in 2007. His principal area of practice is real estate law.
Mr. Harmon graduated from Willamette University (B.A., Political Science, 1995), where he was a competitive policy and parliamentary debater, and Wake Forest University (M.A., Communication, 2000), where he was a graduate assistant debate coach. Mr. Harmon earned his J.D. degree with high honors (Order of the Coif) in 2007 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
During law school, Mr. Harmon served as the Editor in Chief of the North Carolina Journal of Law & Technology, where he is currently a member of the Board of Advisors, and was recognized by the North Carolina Bar Association for his commitment to pro bono service. Mr. Harmon is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and has published several law journal articles, including, “The Methamphetamine Remediation Research Act of 2005: Just What the Doctor Ordered for Cleaning Up Methfields–or Sugar Pill Placebo?,” 7 N.C. J.L. & Tech. 421 (Spring 2006), and “Child Testimony via Two–Way Closed Circuit Television: A New Perspective on Maryland v. Craig in United States v. Turning Bear and United States v. Bordeaux,” 7 N.C. J.L. & Tech. 157 (Fall 2005). His latest article, “The Ethics of Legal Process Outsourcing–Is the Practice of Law a ‘Noble Profession,’ or is it Just Another Business?” will be published by the University of Florida Journal of Technology Law & Policy in the Spring of 2008.
Mr. Harmon is admitted to practice in Oregon.
