Ball Janik LLP offers a limited number of entry level opportunities to associate attorneys who display an exceptional level of maturity, independence, and legal and business acumen. Our firm has built a reputation for maintaining long-term client relationships through pragmatic, business-oriented advice and efficient solutions to legal problems. Entry level associates must be equipped to take on a high level of responsibility and to exercise strong independent judgment in the service of clients.
New associates who practice predominantly in litigation can expect to argue motions in court, take depositions and draft pleadings in their first year, while new associates in the business practice areas will participate in analyzing and structuring transactions and drafting the documents to implement them. All associates have the opportunity to work directly with clients from the beginning of their careers.
To balance this level of early responsibility, the firm offers appropriate guidance to new associates. Practice group leaders work with associates to establish a training and development plan. Senior associates and partners provide informal training and feedback to new associates working with them on client projects. In addition, we conduct semi-annual performance reviews to help keep new associates on track. We also make available a wide variety of continuing education opportunities.
