Ball Janik LLP is a firm focused on growth, innovation, and our team. We are seeking to add an experienced paralegal to our Commercial Litigation Practice Group in Portland, Oregon, focusing on commercial litigation and personal injury matters. The successful candidate is trial ready, highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication, and complex creative problem-solving skills. Independent judgment, superior analytical ability, multi-party complex case management skills and the ability to work in a high paced environment are a necessity. Under minimal supervision and acting on your own initiative and direction, you will be responsible for supporting forward advancement of some personal injury cases. This position involves high-level visibility with clients, insurance adjusters, and defense lawyers and has extensive exposure to sensitive information, necessitating considerable use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgement. Extensive knowledge of state and federal court rules and practice, and a strong technical background and working knowledge of eDiscovery platforms are highly desirable. Five years’ experience and completion of an ABA approved paralegal program is preferred. The successful candidate will be energetic and organized, with excellent written and verbal communication, and complex and creative problem-solving skills. Independent judgment, superior analytical ability, multi­party complex case management skills and the ability to work in a high paced environment are a necessity. Extensive knowledge of state and federal court rules and practice, and a strong technical background and experience with electronic data review platforms is highly desirable. Experience in construction litigation is a plus.
