Overview
Michael Candler is a Florida Registered Paralegal in Ball Janik LLP’s Construction Defect Practice Group. Based in the firm’s Miami office, he supports attorneys in complex litigation matters by managing case files, coordinating discovery, and assisting with trial preparation.
Mr. Candler has years of experience in both complex civil litigation and criminal law. He is well-versed in drafting and filing court documents, conducting comprehensive legal research, and managing discovery processes to ensure legal compliance. He has a proven track record of problem-solving, having implemented a new process that significantly improved document retrieval times and reduced duplicative work.
Mr. Candler was one of the first paralegals to be certified by the Florida Bar, a distinction given to those who meet certain educational criteria combined with years of certifiable work as a paralegal in Florida. From 2019 to 2024, he was also a member of the Bar’s Florida Registered Paralegal Enrichment Committee, an organization tasked with creating awareness of the Florida Registered Paralegal program. Mr. Candler remains deeply committed to the enhancement of the profession and has mentored junior paralegals, guiding them on best practices and workflow efficiency.
Before joining Ball Janik, Mr. Candler served as a litigation paralegal at boutique and large law firms in Florida. In these roles, he also mentored junior paralegals, providing guidance on best practices and workflow efficiency.
