Ball Janik LLP is honored to continue our firm’s long-standing Platinum Sponsorship of the University of Miami School of Law’s Ralph E. Boyer Institute on Condominium and Cluster Development. On October 30-31, 2025, the institute celebrated 50 years of being an essential forum that focuses on Florida condominiums, homeowners, and community association law and development. Attendees included attorneys from numerous law firms and general counsel throughout Florida who focus on construction and real estate.
“Our Platinum Sponsorship supports a statewide forum that advances consistent standards and fosters strategic legal alliances,” said James C. Prichard, Managing Partner of Ball Janik LLP. “We are proud to sponsor along with Castle Group, FirstService Residential, Campbell Property Management, and others to listen, learn, and connect with peers across Florida’s real estate and construction industry.”
Ball Janik had a strong presence with the firm’s Florida construction defect attorneys and the marketing team available to discuss how the firm counsels community associations and property owners throughout Florida. Firm Partners Kelly Corcoran, Phillip Joseph, and Gabriel Z. Coelho were in attendance along with Special Counsel Stephen Hauptman, Associates Elijah Waring, Jr. and Jocelyn Rocha, and Marketing team members Peggy Vivas, Marcela Quimbaya, Diego Bedregal, and Maggie Nahmens Sierra.
The institute covered topics such as judicial updates; 2025 community association legislation; administrative matters with the Division of Florida Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes; Surfside 4.0 compliance and structural integrity requirements; Florida condominium governance; foreign regulation and immigration issues; developer rights; and condominium terminations.
With Ball Janik’s team approach to client matters and strengths in community association legal counsel, the firm’s attorneys are available to evaluate claims, preserve evidence, lead Chapter 558 strategy, and prosecute or resolve defect cases to fund repairs.
